Prospecting on the Trinity River With "Big Nugget" Bill Varnum Upon completion of Bill's class, one will have much more than luck on their side. Bill has made his familys' living with the metal detector. He is willing to share with you his secret tips on the pursuit of the elusive yellow metal. You will learn a new skill and be enriched by Bill's stories of Trinity's mining history as well as his own colorful experiences. Feel the thrill of discovery as you pan out your days findings at the river's edge. Basic to Advanced Prospecting Classes: The "basic half day course" will instruct you in locating areas most likely to carry precious metals and the ability to extract those metals from the gravel. The advanced "full day course" includes the above plus the use of modern metal detectors, ground conditions and heavy mineralization and their effect. Found a nice nugget to be proud of? Bill is also an accomplished jeweler, and can set your precious find as a pendant, ring, earrings or bracelet. Half day class is $50.00 per person 9:00 am to 1:00 pm or 1:30 pm to 5:30 pm Full day class $100.00 per person 9:00 am to 5:30 pm with lunch included Test nugget and pan included with both classes. Metal detectors will be available for rent on half day or full day basis.
